FWIW, I've seen the same thing from time to time. The text box for the posts will stretch out under the ads, making them unreadable. In the 'dell' thread, it's only on the first page, and it appears to be due to the second post in the thread that has a very long url listed that will look to the browser like one long word that can't be broken to allow the text to wrap. I'm also using firefox as my browser.

After my third flat on the fronts of my bx2230, I decided to have them foam filled. That was last summer. They do ride a little stiffer, but not enough that it really bothers me. They cost about $100 for the pair, and add about 90lb to the front end. So far, I love it.
My problem was hawthorn needles btw.
I also checked at the tire store for a tougher tire, but they didn't have anything to offer.

I know this isn't going to be much help, but we signed up for their 'pre-buy' last fall through Ferrellgas and locked in a price of $1.69/gal with a sign-up cost of $35. I've been meaning to call around to find out if it was a deal or not, but haven't, I think because I don't want to know if it wasn't!

My brother had his pole barn done with the spray foam last year. He loves it. He did say it was more expensive than the fiberglass. R-value is higher per inch of thickness if I remember correctly. It does offer some real benifits too. most important, it seals out drafts. It's also not effected by water if it gets wet, doesn't need a vapor barrier, and is supposed to deter mice that just love to burrow in fiberglass. For interior walls, he ran 2x4 purlins on the interior of the posts on 2ft centers, and covered it with some osb he found for cheap. I'd do some searching for a spray foam contractor.

For a small hydrostatic tractor like my BX, this would make even more sense I would think. Quiet, and likely just as much power. I'd look into it if my engine ever dies. It should be a very straight forward conversion.

The blue/white is the HST sensor wire, according to the wiring daigram (for a BX23). It is the ground for the bulb. Power to the bulb comes from the oil pressure light / hour meter power lines up under the dash. They are switched at the ingintion switch.
Does the light still come on if you make sure the Bl/Wht from under the seat isn't grounded?

I just got a 42" Woods Estate Series for my BX2230 for $750. Even with the 42" the front end is light without the FEL attached, but it's manageable. I chose the 42 since it's as wide as the tractor and should make cutting trails and working around trees easier. I'm sure it would have handled the 48" though. I'm also making a protective shield for the under side to protect the fan, etc. It's kinda fun mowing down brush that's 7 to 8 ft tall!

Like 'tractorbuyer', this was a tough decision when I bought my first tractor last fall. I ended up filling the tires with something called 'rim guard' for two reasons. First, the weight is always on, so I don't have to mess with it. Second, the weight is only on the tires, not on the axles and bearings of the tractor, so less wear and tear.

Are you sure one isn't for the hydraulic system? When I did my 50 hr. service, one of the filters was bigger than the other, I think the hydraulic oil filter was the larger one.
Also, are these Kubota filters, or equivalents from some other manufacturer?

Can't really comment on the price, but you may want to consider the spray on foam insulation instead of the fiberglass. My brother just had that done on his pole barn, and he loves it. It makes the building virtually air tight, except for the doors and windows obviously. And, since it's a closed cell structure, water won't damage it. Not sure on the costs though, but I would think it would also eliminate the perimiter seal your quote has.

I agree with iowafan, retaliating isn't the way to go.
A good friend of mine had/has a very similar problem with his neighbor. Mostly malicious destruction and threats. My friend did the documented police visits and video surveillance. He took him to court and the judge agreed the guy was in the wrong and a basic jerk, but only told him to stop and said they should try to work it out. He got lucky though; the jerk was found dead in a known drug house a few weeks later. Now unfortunately his kids, about 10 and 14 are starting the same crap their father did. My friends house is now up for sale.

I stored mine that way for most of this past winter with no leaks or problems. You could just lift it up with the FEL and let it hang for a while to see if yours leaks or not.

I bought mine last fall at Flint New Holland. 13,500$ - BX2230, FEL, 60"MMM, 5' rear blade, tax include. With tax, you're at 13,462$. With the cost increase for the new year, his price sounds right to me. For snow, I'll probably have a front blade before next winter. Rear was just a pain.

now cut the shield, I think so they are a little shorted than the end of the shaft you just cut. I haven't done this yet. with 10" of snow over the weekend, the need to till has diminished. good luck, and if any of this was helpful, consider joining. best 20$ I've spent on my tractor yet.

that's exactly right. I had to fiddle with that adjustment when I first got the machine since it raised the MMM arms so far that they contacted the underside of the tractor before returning the lever to the neutral position. In this case however, the pto shaft was simply too large for my tractor. CCM sent a smaller one and I'm tilling like wild man now. I now have about 5" of overlap on the pto shaft in the fully extended position, much better than the 1.5" I had with the first one. The clultch is sized more closely to my pto output as well. I decided to skip the quick hitch option since I don't have that much trouble hooking up implements, and it saves me 200$ that I can put toward a box blade. And I thought once I bought the tractor I'd be done spending money... does this ever end? I'm looking at rotary cutter too!

I can use the FEL to lift the front wheels, but how do you lift the rears? My three point is power up, but gravity down. Is it supposed to power down too?<br>

I'm not an expert by any means with truck tire, as I've only owned one in my life, but having said that, I only bought Michelins(sp?) now for the last 10 years or so. Never a problem, excellent traction, excellent tread life and a fair price.
As for tread pattern, I'd go with a good highway tread (M+S), not the overly aggressive off-road type. Less noise and better fuel ecconomy. Not as 'manly' a look on a 4x4 though!

This sounds exactly like the problem I've been having lately with my BX. When I start the tractor, the loader works fine ( I have to raise it to get out of the barn). After plowing snow for an hour or so if I try to raise the FEL... nothing, maybe a little 'jerk'. Won't go down either, unless it's in 'float'. If I put it in and out of float a few times, it starts working again. The bucket control (curl) works every time. I've only had this problem in cold weather, but haven't used the tractor above freezing since I first experienced this back in January. I asked the service manager when I was in getting oil and filters the other day, and he had nothing to offer. It's got me stumped. I'll be anxious to see if it goes away in warm weather.
